Oval Biedermeier side table, cherry veneer, 1825

Oval Biedermeier side table, cherry veneer, 1825
Oval Biedermeier side table from around 1825. The tabletop is cherry veneered and set in an ebonized rim that completely encloses the edge.
The table stands on four curved sabre legs. They are connected by ebonized stretchers that cross in the middle and give the base stability. The surrounding apron is also cherry veneered and follows the oval shape of the top.
The contrast of light cherry wood and black-accented edges and stretchers is characteristic of the Biedermeier design language.
The table is suitable as a side table, a salon table, or as a standalone piece in the living area.
