This elegant Biedermeier console table from the first half of the 19th century combines classic lines with exquisite craftsmanship. The semicircular top is made of solid cherry wood and cherry veneer, whose warm, vibrant grain pattern is particularly beautiful in the light.
Decorative ebonized elements clearly highlight the form and create an effective contrast – a typically elegant detail of the mature Biedermeier period.
The piece of furniture is supported by delicately curved saber legs, which lend the table a graceful lightness. A central cross brace provides stability and emphasizes the harmonious silhouette.
The table was professionally restored and then hand-polished with shellac. This brings out the full depth and shine of the cherry wood – a finish that matches the original from the period.
Thanks to its size and elegance, the piece of furniture is ideally suited as an entrance console, wall table, side table or presentation surface for art objects.
